| Seller's Description |
| I've been getting a lot of questions about this car so I decided to add more info. You're looking at a genuine 2002 Ford Mustang Saleen S-281 no. 279 of the series. Before I get started, I have to admit that the car was in an accident about four years ago, and the front passenger side was hit. The vehicle was completely repaired except for two important aspects: the front body kit had to be replaced, so the number decals are gone; also, the dashboard was replaced so Steve Saleen's signature (originally right above the glove box) is gone as well. Yeah, bummer, huh? That's why it's selling for so cheap. A pristine condition Saleen of the same year would normally sell for $25,000. The car also needs a tiny bit of body work- nothing serious. We had the bright idea to have Lamborghini doors installed on it, which is usually a good idea if you go to a professional installer- needless to say, we didn't. So let me explain: the doors weren't lined up correctly so it damaged the fenders when the doors weren't opened carefully enough. We had a body shop replace the stock hinge and repair the fender on the passenger side, but the driver side still needs to be taken care of. I've included pictures of the damage. Also, the front body kit is a little loose mostly just from wear and tear and hitting dips in the road and such. That can easily be repaired with some factory clips, but I'd leave it to the pros. The Saleen decal across the windshield is faded and needs to be replaced as well. The interior is all black leather and it's in excellent condition with no tears whatsoever. The engine is completely stock with no aftermarket upgrades. The mileage is pretty high for such a collectible car, but it still has tons power and it's still a beast! We've recently had the clutch replaced as well. She's still got a lot of life left in her and she needs a good home. Contact Grant at (559)731-9679. |
